Some of you may have noticed that most stores in Dongdaemun had three staff. The senior staff is obviously the one with power who makes the most decisions, oversees the overall sales operation.
She’s quick in catching trends and learning what other sellers have in store. She is likely to have been in the business for at least a couple of years and knows how the market works. She’s the one who keeps the books, writes out the receipts, takes care of the regulars. So if you think a store has the style of items you’re after and you expect to become a regular, you might want to be in good terms with this one. The juniors are there to assist customers, help pack and sometimes wear their own items to show customers. The youngest one is the one who does most manual and physical labor. The three-sisters system is a strictly vertical one and again, you might want to befriend the one on top and never question her authority. Once you become a regular and is within her radar, she will take good care of you.
