As we walked the Cheonggyecheon walk way on our way to Dongdaemun, I came across a beautiful scene across the stream. Two elderly men and one middle-aged man were sitting across the stream from us and playing Korean Chess. They were absorbed in the game. One had taken his shoes off and had very neatly put them on the stair below him. I thought of the old days when they were young gentlemen and would roam around the city in their patent leather shoes and fedoras. They were once working on the forefront of economic development but now peacefully enjoying time of leisure on a beautiful sunny day. And they have not forgotten to look best on a day out like this. Old is still beautiful.
